چکیده

Objective To investigate the role of mifepristone in regulating cytokines of maternofetal interface and serum of human early gestation Methods Thirty-five women with early pregnancy received mifepristone 50 mg orally on study d 1 and d 2, respectively, followed by undergoing artificial abortion to get decidua and villi on study d 3. Twenty-five women with early pregnancy without mifepristone administration as control also underwent artificial abortion to get decidua and villi. The expressions of TGF-β1 and TGF-β1 receptor mRNA in the early decidua and villi were assessed by using RT-PCR . The concentrations of serum TNFα were measured by radioimmunoassay. Results The decidual expressions of TGFβ1 mRNA and TGF-β1 receptor mRNA in the treated group were significantly lower than those of the control (P<0.05), while the villus expressions of TGF-β1 and TGF-β1 receptor mRNA in the treated group were not significantly different from those of the control (P>0.05). The serum TNF-β1 levels elevated significantly after mifepristone treatment. Conclusion The antigestational effect of mifepristone might act through suppressing the transcription of TGF-β1 and TGF-β1 receptor in the decidua and increasing the serum TNF-α level, which interfered in the materno-fetal interface Th2 bias.

اثر 6 هفته تمرینات استقامتی بر TNF-α سرمی و حجم تومور موشهای حامل تومور پستان

Background and Objective: Breast cancer is a genetic and chronic inflammatory disease with an increasing incidence among Iranian women. Researchers have shown that regular exercise is presumed to have prophylactic effect and adjuvant therapy in inhibition of tumor growth. So the aim of this study was to assess the effect of endurance training on serum TNF-α in breast cancer bearing mice. Materi...

Comparison of Effects of High-Fat, High-Protein and Low-Calorie Diets on Klotho Gene Expression and TGF-β Level in Serum and Liver of Old Male Wistar Rats

Background and Objectives: Different diets have important roles in human health and aging. In the current study, we aimed to characterize the Klotho, an anti-aging protein, gene expression and protein level in the serum and assess the protein levels of Transforming growth factor-β and Platelet-derived growth factor in old rats which treated with different diets (high-fat, high-protein, low calo...

The Effect of Human Recombinant Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor-2 on Reducing Inflammatory of Collagen -Induced Arthritis in Balb/c Mice

Background: The tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα) is a cytokine that produced principally by monocyte/macrophages and T lymphocytes, respectively. TNFα is recognized as the primary mediator of immunity in inflammation reaction.  One important application of Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor 2 (TNFR2) is for the treatment of autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis (RA).<br /...

Effects of Inflammatory Cytokine Tumor Necrosis Factor-α on Human Mesenchymal Stem Cell Gene Expression: A Mechanism for Liver Regeneration

Introduction  Insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) which is produced in abundance in the normal adult liver, is deeply involved in hepatocyte survival, growth, and differentiation during liver development. IGF-I plays the roles via the receptor (IGF-IR) signaling pathway. IGF-IR unlike IGF-I is expressed strongly in the developing liver, but much more weakly in adults. Objective:  We hypothesi...

Aberrant effect of genistein on placenta development expressed through alteration in transforming growth factor-β1 and alkaline phosphatase across the maternal serum, the placenta and the amniotic fluid

Objective(s): The mechanism via which genistein, the major isoflavone content of soya, adversely influenced placenta and fetal development was evaluated in pregnant laboratory rats.Materials and Methods: There were control, 2 mg/kg and 4 mg/kg genistein groups of rats with five sub-groups based on gestation termination day. At the end of...
